I purchased three of these camera's when they were on sale for $17 each but I would totally pay the $30 regular price. In fact, I will probably purchase at least 2 more. I purchased these to keep an eye on my elderly parent and the dogs.The Camera:1. Mounting options are great you can mount it upside down or put on a shelf right side up or sideways on a wall2. Power cord plugs into the device with a micro USB to USB cable and USB wall charger3. Micro USB to USB cable measures 6’ 7” from the tip of the micro USB to the tip of the USB4. Range is great with 360 side to side and 180 up and down (approximately)5. Picture is clear both in day and night vision6. Camera is about 5" tall and 4" wide at the base and camera is about 3" wide so it is not a small camera if you are looking to hide it7. Camera has a small blue LED light on the face of the camera so if you are trying to hide it this would be another give away8. If you plan on changing the direction of the camera from the app you do not want to place it next to objects that will interfere with the picture. If you are moving the direction of the camera and an object is next to it the picture will get really bright because of how close the object is.The App:1. Changing the direction of the camera angle works smoothly2. Zoom works very well and the picture is very clear3. Screenshots are clear with time stamp and save to your photo album4. Motion detection alarms (when turned on) will capture a screenshot with time stamp and save in your Message Center5. Sound works okay if the camera is not in a big room with a lot of noise6. Microphone from app to device works well but is not very loud7. Record option works okay but I have not messed with it much8. I am not using an SD Card or Cloud Storage so I cannot comment on those featuresThe features of this camera are exactly what I need for my elderly parent to make sure they are safe. I get screenshots saved of them taking medication and if they get up and wander around the house in the middle of the night which is very important if you have a family member with dementia.Because of the size and the LED light this is not a camera to use as a hidden nanny cam but is great for watching elderly parents, pets, and children. We say that these little devices are Wi-Fi extenders since they work best out in the open and look very similar to our Wi-Fi device.I purchased another “clock camera” previously and the app was very slow and lagged about 3 to 5 seconds and had way less features, but it was more “hidden”. I only used it for about a month before I found this product. I researched several cameras and the apps they use, and I found this to be the best for what I needed it for.I would recommend this product.On a funny note… I was testing out the communication feature when I was away from home and my sister was watching an intense movie and I growled her name… The look on her face was priceless… I know that is not nice, but it made me laugh!Does the jobThe app is not very user friendly. And the wifi is subpar. I tried using this camera in the very front of my house on the garage and even with. Strong/reliable Eufy wifi extender it was getting a totally week signal strength which is unfortunate considering it was pretty steep in price compared to similar items.Product works as described. The item only connects to 2.4 ghz. Hopefully the company will have a net model that supports 5ghz.I bought this because it says it detects motion at 40 ft. It seems to have only one tiny section to the left that seems more sensitive but for most of the viewing area it only detects no further than 20ft. Also. THE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WITH MOTION. Thru only work continuous if you choose to run the camera in color mode at night instead if IR. The IR night view is very clear. I would not buy this camera again due to the lack of motion lights and motion detection distance being so lousy.I can’t say enough about this product. I didn’t expect much for the price, and I’m surprised about all of the features. We set it up to monitor our feral kittens who sleep in a cat house on our covered patio. It captures a large area of our yard as well, and the daylight picture is sharp and clear. The night vision works well, but it is corded and needs to be plugged in indoors, so the tiny light on the camera causes a glare on our sliding glass door so I can’t see the kittens when they are in their home after dark other than their eyes reflecting against the camera light. In the morning, I can clearly see them sleeping from on the phone app while I’m still in bed upstairs (how cool is that?), and I can see when they get up and hang by the sliding door waiting for me to come down and feed them breakfast. Also, at night, the camera’s wide range also views our downstairs hallway and front door (for security), PLUS it has two way CLEAR sound, so I can use it as an intercom to speak with my husband when he’s downstairs on his computer or watching TV. Also, if the camera isn’t positioned right, I can move it up, down and 360 degrees around the entire room from my phone! It also records but I haven’t gotten a memory card for it yet. It’s a lot of technology packed into one little cute robot looking camera, and I love it! May have to buy more. :) NOTE: I couldn’t get it set up, but my son got it done quickly. If you can’t do it, don’t assume that it’s a piece of junk - it’s not. You may just need to contact Amazon’s tech department and have someone troubleshoot it with you. Give it a chance because it’s awesome.Setting up was irritating and mounting it with the side screws was a pain
