I am returning this item because it did not quite work out for me in terms of what I need to haul by air. Overall, this is a lovely camera bag. Think Tank has managed to put together a bag that pings nearly every one of my must haves, including a choice of side access to a camera. There is plenty of room for a mirrorless camera, lenses, the usual camera accessories, and space for a laptop. The top compartment, which includes a pocket that would hold must cell phones, is sufficiently spacious to hold a Kindle e-reader in addition to a wallet. Twin side pockets could hold a smaller water bottle in one, a glasses case, the other. The front storage would be perfect for hat, gloves, scarf. The outer fabric is clearly made of sturdy stuff, but it's also attractive. While fully stuffed, it might be a close fit under an airplane seat, I'm guessing most times it would fit. Yes, it's pricy, but I'd say well worth it.
